Windows 10: When will maximize-window-when-dragged-an-item-over-the-task-icon work again in W11?

In W10 it was possible to drag an item, e.g. a file over an item in the task bar and the corresponding program would then maximise and come to the front, so the user could drop the item in the target program. In W11 that no longer works. Will this feature ever be integrated again? I consider it very basic and quite essential, and it makes working with W11 very inefficient compared to W10. Now, you first have to put the two windows side by side then perform the drag'n drop and then maximise the window again with which you want to work. How do I make it so Taskbar icons will always maximize the window when hovering over them with a file for drag and drop applications?

When uploading files or importing them into programs via the drag and drop method (and only on a single monitor) I find that I am always minimizing and dragging icons over the program task bar but sometimes it will not always maximize the program, especially
if I am in another window then try to do this... to get it to work I will have remaximize the window I want to drag and drop to and then re minimize it and then drag the icon back over, then it will reopen.

I am wondering if there is a trick / configuration / hack to always have the task bar icons always maximize the window when an icon is being held over them?

I had the same problem too. I had turned on Snap setting: Snap Window.

This disallowed me to drag a maximized window from display 1 to display 2.

Turning off the Snap Window, I couldnt move a Maximized window.

It turns out that moving a maximized window works in Snap window mode On when you move that window to the other display fast. Moving it slow makes Windows think that you want to snap it, as if you are parking a car backwards and.. slow.

Solution to move maximized windows:

1. Keep Snap Window On
2. For Snapping a maximized window, move your mouse slow to the edge of a display
3. For moving a maximized window (to a different display), move the maximized window fast
