Windows 10: When will we get Win Native JPEG XR .JXR and JPEG XL .JXL Format support?

Hail:Win Native JPEG XR .JXR and JPEG XL .JXL Format Support:Asked before, made several suggestions to MS, alas ... it still has not arrived.When will we get this format as native, please?Also, where can I find a Windows W11Ent_x64 installer for this format, so i can, for now, carry on with an added Format Codec?Thank you:Ben

You can send your feedback and suggestions to Microsoft through the Feedback Hub, and the development team will review submitted ideas on a regular basis.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with viewing JXL files on Windows File Explorer. JXL is a new image format that offers better compression and quality than JPEG, but it is not yet widely supported by default on most operating systems.

To view JXL files on Windows, you need to install a codec that can decode them and integrate with the Windows Imaging Component (WIC) system. This will allow you to see thumbnails and previews of JXL files in File Explorer, as well as open them with any WIC-enabled application.

Currently, Microsoft does not offer a codec for JPEG XL (JXL) for Windows. You may temporarily seek third-party developed codecs for Windows.

Microsoft attaches great importance to user experience, you can submit your ideas and suggestions through the Feedback Hub, and the development team will regularly review submissions for ideas or fixes.
