Objective: To RDP into a Win11 Pro desktop PC in sleep from outside home network. Contexts: Win 11 Pro RDP is set up, ethernet to router. Computer name = "Desktop", WoL is set up.Router 3389 port forwarding set up. What I can currently do: When PC is awake, I can RDP from my phone on cellular network using home IP address. This proves RDP/port forwarding properly set up. But when PC is sleep, only way to RDP is using "Desktop" in the same home network. PC IP address 192.168.0.156 doesn't work wake up PC. What I can't do:When PC is sleep, RDP using internal or external IP address

    RDP connection win10 -> win11

    Hello,

I am trying to connect from one laptop (win10) to another one (win11) in the same wi-fi, over RDP, but I'm keep getting the "Your credentials did not work" message.

    1. I enabled Remote Desktop connection on my target laptop (the one with win 11) and allowed remote connection in the Firewall settings.

    2. For the RDP configuration, I entered the IP address of the target laptop and for the username I used the value that I got in cmd, "whoami" command. For the password I entered the one which I use on login screen.

I already tried everything that I found on the internet, and it does not work.

The funny thing is that when I try in opposite direction, RDP from laptop (win11) to laptop (win10), I manage to login over RDP, but in the direction that I need it is not working (although I follow all the same steps).

Do you have any idea what I can do more, because I am frustrated ?!

    Thank you in advance.

    RDP syncing?

I connect to one terminal server running Windows Server 2012 R2 from two Windows 10 machines. (I connect from Macs, too, but they don't share this issue.) I connect to the server with Microsoft's RDP client that is native to Windows 10. Both Windows 10 machines
have local authentication; neither one syncs with a Microsoft account for login purposes (although both have OD, ODFB, and an O365-based installation of Office). Both machines log in to the same account on the server; there is never a time when both Win10
machines are logged in to the server at the same time.

The terminal server is running on AWS. In order to get to the server, I have to either go through a Bastion host--in which case the terminal server has one IP address--and then log in through RDP; or log in directly via RDP, in which case the terminal server
    has a different IP address.

If I have logged in with one IP address in RDP from one of the machines, that address will be the default address in the RDP client on the
other machine, even if my last login on that machine was to the other IP. Same in reverse; if I log in with one IP address in the RDP client, that's the address that first appears in the RDP client of the other machine, even if it hadn't been used
    on that machine.

That means that somehow, somewhere, something is syncing between these two RDP clients. What is it?

How to get the IP address and Port info of a RDP client?

    Hi,

I'm trying to find the way to discover the source public IP and port which was used to establish the RDP connection.

    I tried the following ways:

    1) Audit log event 4624, only source IP is included, the source port is empty for RDP.

    2) Terminal services local session manager event 21, only IP info is there.

    3) WTSQuerySessionInformation() with WTSClientAddress. This IP is reported by the RDP client, the IP address might be not the actual public IP, and there is no port info either.

    4) I cannot use the "netstat" way to find the correct port info. Think about the following situation, there are two RDP connections from the same IP with different username, how could you tell which connection is used for each one?

So, is there any reliable way to get such info?

As only one RDP session is allowed for a desktop windows, but 2 can be made to a windows server. I have no idea how to choose the correct category of this question, I just choosed "windows 10 desktop" as the topic to my best understand, hoped i can get the answer.

    thank you very much!
