Windows 10: whenever i click on the taskbar icon only a grey box appears it does not show any options...

please tell the fix as i am getting very much irritated due to this problem also i am not able to upload the screenshot here it is showing faieled to upload

Battery icon is is not showing on taskbar

This is Sudha Independent Advisor and user like you. Please follow below steps to solve your issue

To check the status of your battery, select the battery icon in the taskbar. To add the battery icon to the taskbar:

- Select Start > Settings > Personalization > Taskbar, and then scroll down to the notification area. Choose Select which icons appear on the taskbar, and then turn on the Power toggle. (Note: The Power toggle is not visible on a system such as a desktop PC
that doesn't use battery power.) If you still don't see the battery icon, select Show hidden icons on the taskbar, and then select the battery icon.

- On a device that uses battery power, if you select Start > Settings > Personalization > Taskbar and the Power toggle is greyed out or not visible, in the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, and then select Device Manager in the list of results.
Under Batteries, right-click the battery for your device, select Disable, and select Yes. Wait a few seconds, and then right-click the battery and select Enable. Then restart your device.

-If you select Start > Settings > Personalization > Taskbar and turn on the Power toggle, but the battery icon does not appear on the taskbar, in the search box on the taskbar, type task manager, and then select Task Manager in the list of results. On the Processes
tab under Name, right-click Explorer, and then select Restart.

Photoshop icon is not showing on taskbar

Hi again and sorry that the previous troubleshooting didn't work as intended.

I found some alternatives that aren't harmful to your system to execute and could be of good use. As referred from

Step 1. Click on the "Windows" key and type "Powershell".

Step 2. Right-click on the Powershell option in the output list and click on "Run as administrator" option from the drop-down menu to launch it with admin privileges.

Step 3. Now copy-paste the following command in the blue Powershell dialogue box:

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

The process will take some time to execute the output successfully.

Step 4. After the command line has been executed, trace the following location: C:/Users/name/AppData/Local/ Replace the "name" with your user account name and make sure that your hidden files showing feature is enabled.

Step 5. Now scroll down the list of options and find out the file named "TileDataLayer" and simply delete the folder.

Now, move back to the system home screen and check if the icons have re-appeared or not on the taskbar.

Windows 10 1703 update Cortana > Show Search Box option missing

Hi Melih,

The reason why you're unable to see the option Show search box when navigating to Cortana is that your taskbar is set to use small icons. To rectify this, the option to use small taskbar icons should be turned off. Follow these steps:

• Do a right-click on the taskbar and click Settings.
• Under the Taskbar tab, look for Use small taskbar buttons, toggle it
  Off, and then close the Settings window.
  
• Once done, right-click the taskbar again and navigate to Cortana. You should be able to see now and enable the option
  Show search box.
