Windows 10: Whenever I join a call on whatsapp or discord the audio sounds bad

I am using bluetooth headphones and an external microphone, the audio is fine whenever I do not call someone however when I call someone on whatsapp or discord it becomes worse.

Why does my output audio on my laptop get so bad when I use Discord?

   2. Go to the 'Playback' tab, right-click your default device (usually your headphones or speakers), and select 'Properties'.
      
   3. In the 'Advanced' tab, uncheck 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device' and click 'OK'.

Why does my output audio on my laptop get so bad when I use Discord?

When I use the discord application and join a voice call, the audio on my entire computer gets so bad and muffled. The only thing I can hear is the Discord audio. I've tried fixing the output and input settings that everything online says, like noise suppression and automatic gain control, but nothing helps. Is there anything I can do to fix the audio? This only happens when I use the downloaded version of Discord and not on the web browser version, so I know my headphones are not an issue.
