Windows 10: Whenever I press a key, it tabs to a random desktop app that has the same starting letter.

I'm not sure how or when it started, but my computer now keeps tabbing on whatever app I'm on, and I can't type or do anything. Whenever I press a key it tabs to an app with the same starting key. I've tried doing all the 2x ctrl pushes, sticky keys and the like and absolutely nothing has worked. It's extremely frustrating to do anything because it also makes a noise whenever I press any key.

I have a problem where almost always when I press letter keys (only english letter keys, not windows or spacebar or alt, etc. keys) Windows opens up lots of random programs like "Microsoft Edge How Can I get Help?" tabs, Run, Feedback Hub, File Explorer,
Dictation, etc.

I don't know if maybe this is something that I accidentally enabled before by pressing some other keys or maybe it happens when I press a combination of letter keys? For example F+G+K?

It seems to only happen when I randomly press lots of letter keys fast on the keyboard (in a video game). But I only press letter keys so that's why I'm confused as to why they are opening up programs.

I checked if sticky keys were turned off and disabled the sticky keys shift shortcut too just in case but that didn't seem to help at all.

If anyone knows the answer to this and could help me out I would be very grateful!

This is driving me a bit crazy and I have a sinking Microsoft feeling that there is nothing I can do about it.

I have put a couple of shortcuts to files I open quite a lot in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs ... these are not picked up by the method of pressing the Windows/Start Key and then pressing the first 2 or 3 letters of the name.

However, these shortcuts DO appear in the "all apps" list... alphabetical. My natural assumption was that it would be possible to navigate through this menu pressing the opening letter(s) of the name ... but NO.

Oh, no, what a naive fool I was: in its wisdom it appears that M$ decided this would be just too convenient.

I know that you can click on the letters here and the list is replaced by a grid of the letters ... again, with no visible means of navigatioh by key press. Already at that point you are at 3 key presses and a mouse click to get there.

Please can someone suprise me and tell me a way of navigating through all apps?

I can think of a "workaround" involving Autohotkey: i.e. to bring up an Explorer at the directory C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs... then navigating by key press.

Is this workaround the only way?
