Windows 10: Whenever i type a file name in search box of windows 11 i do not get my file

you get the idea. ( too lazy to put it in a for loop and test it.

or just open regedit and remove all the fileX from that key.

2. When you say ''typing into the file name search box in any program, Word, Photoshop etc'' do you refer to the Cortana search box or the search box with-in the programs?

As initial troubleshoot steps lets us try
run search and indexing troubleshooter and check if it helps,

This issue may occur due to corrupt Windows search files or settings.

Please follow these steps:

• 
  Type troubleshooting
  in the search box on taskbar.
  
• 
  Click troubleshooting
  in the search results.
  
• 
  Click "View all" and then click "Search and Indexing".
  
• 
  Click "Next" and follow on-screen instructions.
  

And if you refer to the search box, open the application, press CTRL + F key and check.

Using the search file name search box within an individual program

Can anyone help?

Up until recently I was always able to begin typing into the file name search box in any program, Word, Photoshop etc. and a list of files would pop up and you could select the one you wanted. However, strangely this facility is
no longer working, I have been through everything I can think of and it is very frustrating. I have tried looking at the other computers in our office to check all the right boxes are ticked in search options but nothing seems to work.

I would be grateful for any suggestions!
