Windows 10: Where are the Windows 10 Movie Apps from recent past articles

Hello,

I was just googling some Windows 10 movie apps to find out what's out there. And it seems that writers have suggested many apps that I can't seem to find in the Microsoft Store. I mean, other than the big ones like Netflix and friends, it seems the chance of them actually being in the Microsoft store is pretty slim. These articles that I've found aren't even from that long ago (maybe like 2 years only). Is there some other way to find (and install) these apps, or is competition with the big guys so great that most of these Movie companies fold really fast?

Windows 10 Movies & TV App: No Sound

Hi,

I suggest you to un-install and re-install Movies & TV App and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key.
• Type Windows Powershell.
• Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
• Type in the following command to un-install Movies & TV App.

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneVideo* | remove-appxpackage

Note: The Movies & TV App can be reinstalled using the Store App or by following the link mentioned below. You will need to exit the Store app if it is already open before reinstalling the app.

Movies & TV App No Explore/Purchased Tabs - PC

We found this
article about how to associate devices with the Movies & TV app. It got us thinking:

• Were you able to see your desktop as one of your download devices from your laptop or Xbox?
• Have you tried to purchase a movie from your desktop?

If things from the article will not work, let's reinstall your Movies & TV app. Follow these steps:

• Run Windows PowerShell as administrator.
• Copy and paste: Get-AppxPackage *zunevideo* | Remove-AppxPackage then press
  Enter.
• Restart your device.
• Lanch Windows PowerShell again
• Copy and paste: Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”} and press
  Enter.

Please advise as necessary.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
