Windows 10: Where are you going with this update? why are my programs constantly being removed?

Last week I did a "system restore" in doing so several of my games and programs were removed. ie: My World of Warcraft that I have been playing for years or should I say more than a decade and a half. I've never had it or my games & data removed before this new update. Then last night I was working on my Kodi build for about 6 hours at that point at I had Windows Update running in the background. I blew off the first restart. when it popped up again in about five minutes I though "well this is going to annoy me all night so I let it do its thing. low and behold it removed my Kodi.exe from the start menu. thank goodness I had installed Kodi on my backup data drive I only had to create a desktop shortcut. But MS knows that's not the point. Then today. I get a notification that my version of windows doesn't support Nvidia Shield streaming. I click on the compatibility note just to see what that would do. Well that did nothing.... So i click on the main body of the notification. and its in German? I do come from German decedents, But i never in my life spoke it. Nor would I personally touch any setting saying I would like to read my notifications in German. the weird thing is when the World of Warcraft was uninstalled my other games from Blizzard ent. were left along with some of my other games i rarely play. I've been using Microsoft since the DOS 1.0 days and have never been so furious. is there a way i can get a complete windows update? So that Microsoft programming stops with moving and deleting of my hard work. There is nothing more frustrating than what I've been dealing with. I hope this complies with your code of conduct?

If I tried to write this after each one of these events . I'm sure I would have been breaking it for sure.

Windows 10 update 1607 removed several programs

Hi Steven,

To resolve your concern, we suggest that you go back to the previous build that you have. To go back to an earlier build on Windows 10, follow the steps below:

• Click the Windows logo and go to Settings.
• Click Update and security and go to Recovery.
• Click Get started under Go back to an earlier build.

Windows 10 will automatically download and install the next updates. To avoid your concern on happening again, we suggest you to defer the updates that will be released. To defer updates, follow the steps below:

• Click the Windows logo and go to Settings.
• Click Update and security and go to Windows Update.
• Click Advance options and check the box for Defer upgrades.

computer doesn't go to sleep automatically

The only task in that list that is not a part of the system task is the "FreeDownloadManagerNetworkMonitor". We suggest that you end the said task by going again to the
Task Scheduler. To do so, kindly follow these steps:

• Follow the steps that we have provided you before to display all running tasks.
  
• Once all running tasks are displayed, select "FreeDownloadManagerNetworkMonitor", then click on
  End Task.

If ending its task doesn't resolve your concern, we suggest that you try to uninstall it by following the steps in this article:

Repair or remove programs in Windows 10. Once done, kindly check if the issue persists.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
