Windows 10: Where change the mouse LOD (lift off distance)?

Does anyone have a clue where to change the LOD value (lift off distance) with the Microsoft Surface Precision mouse? Since it can't be done in the Mouse and Keyboard Center, I was hoping that the value perhaps could be found as a key in the registry, a line in an *.inf or *.ini file or in a similar way elsewhere? Anyone got a suggestion? I'm using the Microsoft Surface Precision mouse, very expensive but I love it. However, the skates need replacement every now and then. This time I bought cheramic skates. They are so good that I don't even have to touch the mouse, it slides so easy that it moves by mind power alone. Almost. The problem is that these skates are a little thicker than regular pads and therefore the LOD need to be adjusted.

LOD=lift off distance, the amount of distance from sensor to surface before the sensor stops reporting position
its usually configured by the driver or firmware

It appears if anything that LOD is intended for lower end computers. Also, the repeated changes to the registry isn't a good idea so I have to stop for now. There is one variable and it's the program used to change LOD. I am not sure if all of them work the same when changing LOD. However, so far LOD only changes Image Quality. I've played BF2 and in motion LOD -1 looked over sharpened and can lead to screen crawling. At -10 it's even worst. The only option is to use both AF to sharpen the overall area.

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue. I suggest you to install all pending Windows updates and check. Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

• Type Mouse and Touchpad Setting in Search and hit
  Enter.
• Change settings as per your requirement; click on Advance mouse options.
• Change settings under Buttons, Points, Pointer options, Wheel.
