    Where did second Windows 11 boot option come from?


    I am not sure what is going on, two days ago everything booted normally. Yesterday when I turned on my laptop it came up with 2 boot options. I have deleted the option that wasn't supped to be there, and it hasn't come back yet, but I have no idea where it come from in the first place. The Windows update did not do an update, its just odd. Anyone have an idea what might have happened?im on an ASUS with Win 11 running an I9 with 32gig ram and 2 2TB ssd

    Hi Elda,

    If the boot sequence didn't work, then we suggest try running the laptop in safe mode. To do this, here's a few steps to follow:

    • Power down your laptop.
    • Turn it back on again.
    • When you turn it back on, press F8 repeatedly until the power on option appeared.
    • If you see the boot option "Safe Mode with Networking", choose that option.
    • See if you can boot up in Safe mode.

    Windows 11 safe mode boot missing Startup Settings option

    We are deploying new desktops with Windows 11. I was writing up procedures for booting in safe mode in Windows 11. There were many options to get to Troubleshooting option but all methods had steps :

    1. After the computer restarts to the Choose an Option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
    When I select the Troubleshooting option, my Advanced Options screen does not have a Startup Setting option. My only options are Startup Repair UEFI Firmware Settings

    Command Prompt System Restore

    Uninstall Updates System Image Recovery

    How do I boot my Win 11 PC in safe mode from a cold start?
