Windows 10: Where do I find older windows 10 audio drivers?

I noticed that 1703 uses High Definition Audio 10.0.15063.502 (27.07.2017). Sound works flawless to my AV/TV.

With 1709 audio cuts out all the time. Its using 10.0.16299.15 (28.09.2017).

Is there anywhere I can find that older driver so I can try and see if it fixes the sound?

I've also tried nvidia's hd sound driver without any luck.

Have you tried uninstalling the driver, then rebooting your system?

 

Of couse. It requires a reboot everytime you uninstall and install it.

 

Press the Win key+X choose Device Manager. expand Sound, Video, Game Controllers, right click High Definition Audio, choose Properties,/Driver/Roll Back Driver to the previous version that was working.
If that is not available, go to the Asus Support site for your board MAXIMUS IV EXTREME-Z Driver & Tools| Motherboards | ASUS Global
and download the Audio driver from there.

 

There is no driver to roll back to, thats why I want to know if its possible to download the High Definition Audio 10.0.15063.502 (27.07.2017) from windows 10 1703 insted of the new one that 1709 has.

Also, its not the integrated sound card, that card has always been disabled in BIOS. HDMI goes from my nvidia 980ti, and yes, I've tried several nvidia hd sound drivers, and they also dont work.

Yes, but as I said, the soundcard on my board is disabled in BIOS, and there is no wires connected to it. So I see no reason to why I should install a driver to a audio card that is not even seen by my OS or even in use.

 

Where do you plug your speakers into? Do you have a separate Sound Card? If so, go to that manufacturers support/download drivers site and type in your make and model # and download that driver.

 

You need to install the correct driver for your Asus Xonar Soundcard. The 'High Definition Audio' driver is a Microsoft generic/default driver that will lack features & probably the sound quality of the manufacturer's driver.

 

I only use my headset thats connected to my asus xonar sound card, that works perfectly fine. The problem is with the sound that goes to my AV/TV from my gpu with a HDMI cable.

I have the proper newest asus xonar driver installed. That sound card has no issues and plays sound just fine. As I mentioned to the other user here, is that the problem is with HDMI from gpu to AV/TV. And its something with this 1709 build that is causing this. It's so strange that it just cuts the audio randomly, and the video signal is not affected at all.

 

Did you download the latest nVida Display driver? NVIDIA This would include Audio for HDMI

I'm starting to think this is a HDCP issue that came with the new Windows build. I've tried everything, and its so weird that the sound either drops out randomly every 3-10 sec. Or its completly gone.

Edit: Not so sure about HDCP issue anymore, since NVIDIA gives me the same messange in 1703, and the AV reciever works perfectly on this build.

This must be one of the strangest problems I've ever encountered.
