Where does EUDCEDIT save private characters?

I've created a few private characters with Eudcedit, and I can use them in applications like Word by typing the hex-code followed by Alt+X. However, they do not shew up in Character Map or font managers, either under "All Fonts Private Characters" or under EUDC, so I can't get at them to edit them or to use one as a model in Eudcedit for a new item. I created a new character this morning, and it works as just described, but I can't find it anywhere and the EUDC.TTE font file indicates that it has not been modified since the middle of last year! The fact that it works proves that it's somew

  2. Private Character Editor (EUDCEDIT) data storing Q

As first I didn't knew where to post this Q.

Yes, it looks for forums over the web.

Q: Where are in Windows stored data of private characters created by Private Character Editor (EUDCEDIT)?

I tried many forums and everywhere was told - look at exported TTE - but really - I'm not any fatal newbie in Windows and I found never TTE file, I was searching lot locations, set private path, displayed system
    protected files.

When I integrate it into all fonts, I found never written All character set...

    Really I'm posting it here.

I created in time more than 200 private characters and each reinstall (in future) it makes big task.

Nobody knows where they're stored, I mean best match who will know answer on this Q is Microsoft forum.

So, can anybody tell me where to find private characters to backup it?

My suggestion for future updates of EUDCEDIT - add binary backup - like each of us knows: all is anywhere stored, only find where, is sometimes harder...

Thank you for your patience and reading these words.

  3. Private Character Editor (EUDCEDIT) tranfering bitmap between Windows installations

    Hi!

I'm using for personal use Private Character Editor aka EUDCEDIT instead any font editor for creating custom characters.

I have lot of private characters created in Windows 8 and 8.1. Now want to give them back. Problem is not transferring and linking.

Problem is when I open EUDCEDIT, I cannot see bitmaps - only empty chars. I can edit/update all of them but always must to copy whole bitmap and edit it generally.

This problem appeared first time in Windows 10.

    Linking I did this way:

    1. overwrite EUDC.TTE in Windows\Fonts folder

    2. in Registry Editor linked common font

    3. opened EUDCEDIT and manually linked with all fonts.

All characters are back. But when I want to edit bitmap, I see never imported or updated and even also edited in current system.

It is not new problem, but now I need to shift down many of characters (over 100 chars) and copy/paste bitmap is not applicable - this work can be for weeks, if it can be without this bug it is work of single day.

I think I do in import process any mistake. I don't have other Windows 10 installation to test other way, so I need help.

I think it can work maybe this way:

    1. link EUDCEDIT empty bitmaps with all fonts.

    2. link common font in registry

    3. copy EUDC.TTE

    4. link characters with all fonts in EUDCEDIT

I tested it only one way possible except new installation - virtual machine. But again the same problem.

    Thank you for all.

  4. Where does EUDCEDIT save private characters?

Line spacing issue in Private Character Editor, Windows 10.

    Hello!

I'm using private character editor built-in Windows known also as EUDCEDIT.

I see that all private characters have different line spacing than standard characters.

Top of private character is partly not visible, if, only in higher font size and aligned to other line.

Look at: left is 11pt font size and right is 18pt.

Is possible to set different line spacing and so also top of character visibility?

Thank youfor all suggestions and help.
