  1. Where does the mediaCreationTool save the downloaded iso?

Hey guys, this is my first post here. And I pretty much made an account to stress this issue that I have right now.

Ok, so I chose to upgrade my PC through the mediaCreationTool and waited for the download to finish.
A few minutes later it was checking for updates. Then bam.

My PC suddenly restarted. What I want to know basically is where the mediaCreationTool saves the iso as it has already finished downloading, and if I can use that iso without mediaCreationTool's help?

    Thank you!

    :)

  3. where does the downloads save when downloaded from store in window 10 ?

    Hi.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Let us refer to the following thread to take ownership of the folders

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/how-to-delete-folders-after-changing-ownership/ae5a858b-b4a0-4fbd-82b9-b19a85cb5ce2"

Refer to the suggestion by ZigZag from the following link to take the ownership of folder.

How to change the owner of a file/folder

    Method 2:

Edge browser by default saves the file downloads to this folder: ‘C:\users\<username>\downloads’

Change Edge browser’s Default Download Location

    1. Open File Explorer (use Win+E)

Tip: Set File Explorer in Windows 10 to open This PC’ as default Folder instead of ‘Quick Access‘.

    2. Right click on the ‘Downloads’ folder and select ‘Properties’

    3. Click ‘Location’, type the new path (select the folder, hold ‘Shift’ button and right click on that folder will show you ‘copy as path’ command) and click ‘Ok’

    4. Windows asks: ‘Do you want to move all of the files from the old location to the new location?’, if you want that to happen, click ‘Yes’, otherwise click ‘No’.

From now onwards, Edge saves downloaded files to the location you’ve specified or entered above, click ‘Restore Default’ to undo the location change.

I hope the above suggestion helps. If you need further assistance, get back to us and we will be glad to assist you.

    Thank you.

Where does the mediaCreationTool save the downloaded iso?

Start the media creaton tool again and check the destination folder, afterwards you can burn the .iso to a disk and install from that

I think if the download (or the verify process afterwards) fails, it won't create any file at all. You must retry.

  7. That's the last thing I wanted to hear =_= Are there any other methods that doesn't involve redownloading the whole thing? I won't have enough up-time if I redownload it

Where does the mediaCreationTool save the downloaded iso?

Officially, none that I know of. It took me three retries to be able to fetch the proper ISOs. Annoying to say the least. Yes, I know MS servers must be quite busy.
