Windows 10: Where is Microsoft Notepads autosave files located at?

I recently reinstalled windows to fix issues but forgot to save some notes due to the Autosave function and hadn't thought about my notes. Im using disk drill but cannot figure out where the autosave files are located and even if i get those autosave files how do i use them? These notes are important to me. Any suggestions or information sould help

I suggest the following simple steps:

1. Set the autosave options in MS Office to a low value say 5 minutes.
2. Setup file history to autosave frequently - the shortest period is 5 mins
3. Install Macrium Reflect Free and configure it to do a daily incremental system backup

You should be well covered if you do the above to protect your key files.

 

Autosave not properly working for a Word document on OneDrive

I want to verify something:
If you right-click the affected Word file where AutoSave keeps turning off, and select Properties, what does it list as the location of the file?

Microsoft Notepad is a word processing tool included with Windows and is installed by default under the Accessories program group. If you want to create notes using Notepad, follow these steps:

• In the Cortana search bar, type Notepad.
• From the search results of Cortana, select Notepad.
• In the Notepad window, type your notes.
• If you're ready to save the Notepad file, click File.
• Choose Save as.
• On the Save as window, select the location where you want to save the Notepad file.
• In the File name text box, type the name of the Notepad file.
• Click Save.
