Windows 10: Where is my Bitlocker key?

Windows Update trashed my computer. Now all it does is bluescreen instead of starting. In the WinRE, I try to do a safe mode start and it DEMANDS my Bitlocker key.


I don't have one. I never set up Bitlocker on this computer in the first place. It directs me to a web site to find the key, but trying to log in there results in the error message "Logging in with a Microsoft account is not currently supported." I search "help" here. It tells me I can find my Bitlocker key in my Microsoft account. So I log in and check that. There is nothing anywhere that says "This is your Bitlocker key."


In the support community, I do find a reference to ANOTHER microsoft web site that does allow me to log in. But it says "You have no Bitlocker keys. You should contact your company's administrator." This is a personal laptop. It is not now nor has it ever been part of a company.


Microsoft has essentially locked me out of my own computer by insisting I update.

Please make sure you are signed as the Administrator of the computer.

To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on an operating system drive

  Click Start, click Control Panel, click
  System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.

  Click Suspend Protection for the operating system drive.
  
• 
  A message is displayed, informing you that your data will not be protected while BitLocker is suspended and asking if you want to suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption. Click
  Yes to continue and suspend BitLocker on the drive.
  

To turn off BitLocker Drive Encryption

• 
  Click Start, click Control Panel, click
  System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  
• 
  Find the drive on which you want BitLocker Drive Encryption turned off, and click
  Turn Off BitLocker.

  A message is displayed, informing you that the drive will be decrypted and that decryption may take some time. Click
  Decrypt the drive to continue and turn off BitLocker on the drive.
