Windows 10: Where is my Public folder? How do I search it? Also another question about Search

I use File Explorer's search function to find files.

I can search my whole computer, but that's slow.

I can search Documents, but I think those are only my own documents. (Am I correct about this?)


My C: drive has a path C:\Users\Public. I ought to be able to tell the search: Look in my Documents and in the public area. But don't look thru the whole C: drive -- that takes too long. Or to choose whether I want to look in one or the other of these places.


Also, I'd like to have an option to search only by filename. Sometimes it's useful to do a search that also looks inside documents. But on other occasions, that feature is a nuisance, giving me lots more than I want.


I haven't bothered w Cortana -- that gives me a whole lot of stuff I don't want.

Which is why I suggested he try there instead. TPU is too limited of a user base to search here alone for anything gaming related.

 

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

 

Search Question

I've done some searching on here over the years, and mostly been aggravated at the results. Case in point: 5 minutes ago I went to search for anyone having issues with 5.1 audio on Wolfenstein new order. So, I started simple with
New Order
. that didn't go well. So, I swapped to "New Order". That gave me this result

Is there any way to change or improve our search engine? Or is there a better way to search for something like that?
