Windows 10: Where is the auto fill for genre in the edit mode in the new Windows Media Player?

In the old Groove Music when you click to Edit Info the program would remember the various music genres that you had entered. You simply clicked the down arrow and selected. In the new media player you have to type in the genre every time you edit info. I keep finding more and more flaws in this "Upgrade". At this point Microsoft would do well to revert back to the old Groove Music. It was far superior to this new piece of junk.

Changing Genre in Windows Media Player

This is solution that I found for changing the genre of the music. I copied the CDs I have to windows media player. After that, I edited the genre from the existing name to a new name (Pop to Sleep). Then I attached my MP3 player and set it to copy
mode. I opened Windows Media Player and selected the sync command. I then drug the albums I wanted to the right column on the screen and hit sync now. After that was complete, I opened my mp3 player and the new genres were there. This is a method that
actually works versus some of the other ideas that I found. You might want to pass this on to other people with the same problem.

 

New Windows Media Player Plugin for Firefox

Anyone who uses Windows Vista and Mozilla Firefox may be pleased to hear that the Windows Media Player team has now released a plugin for Firefox that should allow the browser to play WMP content on websites. Here are the steps to get it working:

• Installation of the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin may require administrative access to your PC. It is recommended that you close all other open browser windows before continuing with the installation.
• Click the Install button to automatically download and install the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin.
• Depending on your security settings, you may see a Security Warning dialog box. Click Install to install the plugin.

There is a known issue if you are using Firefox version 2.0.0.3 on Windows Vista with the installer failing with error code -203. To work around this simply restart Firefox (you will get a notification that Windows Vista will be changing the Firefox compatibility settings) and then install again - the second time should succeed.

The download is available here, and the new plugin works on all versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista (although it is mostly intended for Vista, as that currently has no WMP support in Firefox).
