Windows 10: where is windows dvd player file located at?

Discus and support where is windows dvd player file located at? in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; Please help. I paid and downloaded the windows dvd player.     where is windows dvd player file located at?


    Please help. I paid and downloaded the windows dvd player. It works fine but I am unable to set it as default program because it does not show up in the list of installed apps. What do I do?

    Windows DVD Player File Location

    Windows DVD Player is a Windows App, and as such it is not an executable (.exe) like older Applications, and is stored in a location you should not mess with.

    To set it as the default app go to Settings - System - Default Apps - Set defaults by Apps

    Then Select Windows DVD Player in the list on the left, then select Set Defaults for this app, then you can set file associations for .vob, .ts, .ifo . . . the main file on a DVD to get it to play, menu and all is Video_Ts,ifo

    Also to get Windows to use this app when a DVD is inserted got to Control Panel - AutoPlay and you can set that there

    windows dvd player in my HP laptop (windowas 10) has stopped working

    I did Method 1 followed by Method 2. In Method 2 & step 2, I uninstalled the DVD player app.

    However, now the Windows store wants me to pay $14.99 for the Windows 10 version of the DVD player app.

    HELP! .... I'm now without the Windows 10 DVD player app and I have no intention of paying $14.99 for something that I was told to delete by Microsoft Help.

    Method 2.

    I suggest you to uninstall/reinstall the DVD player app and check if this helps.


    • Go to settings and click on System.

    • Click on App & features, locate for the DVD player app, click on it and uninstall it.
    Note: You can install it back again from Windows store.
