  2. Missing mouse cursor style files

Currently I have my pointer set to the 'Windows Black (system scheme)' setting. I am able to change the pointer to any of the other schemes and they all display correctly, apart from the scheme '(none)', which instead uses the same scheme as 'Windows Default
    (system scheme)'.

The above screenshot shows the Pointers menu and the scheme '(none)', with the previews showing the correct scheme.

Here, I set the 'Normal Select' and 'Help Select' styles in the 'Windows Black (system scheme)' to the default styles and applied it, but the pointer changed to the pointer from the 'Windows Default (system scheme)' scheme.

Here is the folder where the mouse cursors are stored, which I accessed via the Browse button in the Pointers tab. The
large, medium and normal sizes for the inverted and black cursors can be seen, but only the
large and medium cursors for the default scheme can be seen. There is no sign of the
normal size that is used for the '(none)' scheme.

One thing to note is that I had the '(none)' scheme selected before I updated Windows, and looking online, it seems that users have been experiencing files disappearing with this latest update. Could it be that the cursor files were simply accidentally deleted
when Windows updated? And if so, would I be able to re-download the cursor scheme I am missing from an official source?

    Thanks,

    James

  3. Restore Windows 11 Windows Default Sound Scheme?

I was messing around with the sounds in Windows 11 and I found a really cool Sound Scheme online called JARVIS AI. I would like to use the Windows Default Sound Scheme again, but when I select Windows Default most of the sound files are not listed. I believe the sound files (.wav) are located in C:\Windows\Media, but I'm not sure which sound files coincide with each Program Event. Is there any way to restore the Windows Default Sound Scheme? Or can someone provide a list of each Program Event and the coinciding sound files for Windows 11?

    Thank you.

Where to download the Windows Default system scheme cursor files

    Missing mouse cursor style files

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Please reply to the following questions to get a better understanding on the issue:

    • What is the current scheme selected for the pointers?
    • What happens when you change the pointer scheme to any other scheme?

However, you can follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Type 'Control Panel' on the search bar.
    2. Select the Control Panel icon and open it.
    3. Click on Mouse.
    4. Click on the Pointer tab.
    5. Click on Use Default to reset the Pointers to Default.
    6. Click on Apply and OK.

Also, I suggest you to post a screenshot of the screen to understand the issue more clearly.

NOTE: While posting the screenshot make sure you don’t have any personal information mentioned displayed.

    Hope it helps.
