Windows 10: Where to purchase a Qualcomm Atheros DW1707BGN Wireless Network Card for a Dell Inspiron...

I have a colleague and he currently has a Dell Inspiron 5566 machine that has a Wireless Network Card that only provides 2.4GHZ band. I read somewhere on the net that the machine is capable of providing 5GHZ band for his machine but he would need to purchase a Qualcomm Atheros DW1707BGN.

I've tried to source if from Dell but I wanted to know if it can be purchased from somewhere else. My colleague is based in the US and please could anyone confirm with me if it is the Qualcomm Atheros DW1707BGN that is needed to replace his current Wireless Network Card?

Atheros Qualcomm wireless network driver problem


I have been waiting for an updated driver for the Qualcomm Atheros AR5007EG for just about forever. This morning, an update was ready through Windows Update.






YAY! I thought - now, no more unrecoverable BSODs when trying to install a printer.

BUT! Not so fast...







Guess I'll have to wait a while longer......*Sad
