Windows 10: Where's the Slider to adjusst brightness for external display?

So, i am running windows 11 22621.1992 on a Desktop PCand i have no idea where's the brightness slider for my external Display Monitor in Windows

I have a desktop pc with 2 external monitors and I display them as extended display.



Should, or can, the brightness slider in the notification box show?.



At present I have the latest windows 10 software installed on my desktop ,but no brightness slider.



I all so have the same software installed on my 2 laptops – the brightness slider works fine.



Does this mean the external monitors are the problem with my desktop?



Please advise

Select Start , choose Settings , then select System > Display. Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness

Some PCs can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions. To find out if your PC supports this, in Display settings, under Brightness and color, look for the Change brightness automatically when lighting changes
check box, and then select it to use this feature. This automatic setting helps make sure your screen is readable wherever you go. Even if you use it, you can still move the Change brightness slider to fine-tune the brightness level.

note:

You might not see the Change brightness slider on desktop PCs that have an external monitor. To change the brightness on an external monitor, use the buttons on it.

If you don't have a desktop PC and the slider doesn't appear or work, try updating the display driver. In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results. In Device Manager, select Display adapters,
then select the display adapter. Press and hold (or right-click) the display adapter name, then select Update driver and follow the instructions.

 

Brightness Slider Gone from Power Plan

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Select action center/notification button on the right side of the taskbar, and then move the
Brightness slider to adjust the brightness. As mentioned in the article, if you
don't have a desktop PC and the slider doesn't appear or work, try updating the display driver.
As you have already update the Display drivers, I would suggest you to uninstall and delete the drivers then update it again. To uninstall and delete the drivers, please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Open Device Manager and then expand the Display adapters
   section.
2. Then right click on options listed below and click on Uninstall.
   
3. Check the box next to Delete this drivers.
4. Then reboot your device and update the drivers. You can also try updating the Batteries drivers along with display drivers from manufacturer’s website.
