Windows 10: Which is a better for Win 11 recover disk or an installation media

There are basically two ways to reinstall or recover for Windows 11. Firstly we can use Windows Recovery Media or we can use the Windows 11 Installation Media. What is not clear is that what is the difference between both of these? Are they complimentary or substitute for one another. For example if we get a computer from one of the PC Manufacturers like Asus or Acer or Lenovo in which Windows 11 was activated using volume licensing then can we use the volume licensing key and use the Windows 11 Installation Media? Or do we have to use Windows Recovery Media only? ORIf the PC is running say Wi

Suggestions on recovering data deleted by Media Creation Tool. /(Win-11)/

Hello, I recently installed Media Creation Tool on an 4TB ext. HD in it's own storage space with its own drive letter. After running the installation in that space, all of the other drive letters are gone and stating that the space is 32gb. Has anyone found a secure software that was able to recover drive directories, or is it suggested to do a data recovery on the entire disk?

Also. Is it not possible to use Media Creation Tool to create a Windows machine on a hard drive with multiple drive letters? I know of Rufus (win), Ethcher (win,unix,linux), and EaseUse.

Any software suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, you would need to describe exactly what you have done step by step as the possibilities in your minimal description are many. We don't even know for sure exactly where your original disk is or what method you have used, so no point suggesting data recovery methods yet. Microsoft software download website. To create an installation or repair media, follow the steps below:

• On a working PC, go to the
  Microsoft software download website.
• Download the media creation tool and then run it. You need to be an administrator to run this tool.
  
• Select Create installation media for another PC.
• Choose a language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit).
• Follow the steps to create installation media, and then select Finish.
