Windows 10: which language setting uses a UK british keyboard for special characters but with an azerty...

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Carbon x1 Gen4 which has a UK british keyboard lay-out for special characters but with an azerty lay-out. Unfortunately, I do not find any language setting that uses that type of keyboard. Does anybody know what is the solution? Thank you

I understand that you are facing issues while using the special characters on the keyboard. Also, I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.

• Are you aware of any changes being made to the PC?

In order to narrow down the issue, let us try a few steps.



Try adding English UK language and then removing the English US language pack. Refer the sections
Install a language pack and Remove extra language packs or keyboard languages
in the article
Manage the input and display language settings in Windows 10.



Once you remove English US language, add it once again and then remove the English UK language by following the same steps and check if the issue persists.

After the April updates, my keyboard is not working. Special characters not displaying properly.

Prior to installing the Microsoft April updates, (Cumulative Update for Windows 10 version 21H2 for x64 based systems KB5025221) and (.NET 6.0.16 Security Update for x64 Client) KB5025915 my keyboard was working properly. Now some of the upper-case characters in the number row are displaying the wrong character.

I.e.

• the uppercase 2 displays the double quote instead of the @ (I found the @ sign where the double quote sign should be.
  
• The uppercase 3 displays £, (the symbol for the British pound) instead of the pound sign. I have no idea where the pound sign is. Probably had to get it from the special characters.
  

I am using a Microsoft wired keyboard. I exchanged the keyboard with a Logitech wireless keyboard, and it does the same thing.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Keyboard language - UK

Hi, following a Windows update that I completed last week the keyboard on my laptop has changed, in so much as the special characters. For example on my UK keyboard on the number 3 I have the symbol for our British currency but if I push the shift key and
the number 3 I now get #

On the specific key designated for # I get \

I have tried to change the setting's for English UK but it doesn't help.

On the bottom right corner on the taskbar it has the word ENG.

Can someone please tell me how I can get my keyboard to change back to how it was? At the moment there is nowhere on my keyboard that I can produce the pound sign for our currency. Thanks for any help, Sue
