Which service is triggering Event 4264?

I have a Windows 10 PC, prebuilt from an OEM with no unusual hardware, that has had a persistent problem. A few times a day the PC will 'stutter' or hang for 2-3 seconds. Video and Audio will freeze, then a few seconds later it will catch up. Occasionally DWM will crash and restart when this happens, but other programs don't seem to notice. As you can probably imagine, this problem is hard to search for, and I don't expect to be able to solve it just by posting about it here either, but just to be clear: I've tried just about everything I can think of, including a clean reinstall of Win 10

    :)

  2. Task Scheduler: task gets triggered by event but does not start

I know a thing or two about the Task Scheduer but so far I am unable to wrap my mind around your problem. Here is why:

    • I do not recognise the screen snapshot your posted. What is it?
    • What event is supposed to trigger the scheduled task?
    • What is the scheduled task supposed to run?
    • You write "there is the initial event 108 showing the event getting triggered". How can an event trigger another event?
    • Do time-triggered tasks work reliably?

Trigger Task Scheduler by connection and disconnection of a wireless headphone

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand that you want to trigger a task in Task Scheduler when you connect headphone to your PC.

We would suggest you to try the steps mentioned below and see if that helps:

    1. Connect the headphone to the computer. Now, press
Windows key + X, and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand Bluetooth, right click on the
      headphone and select Properties.
    3. Click on Events tab, you will find 2 events.
    4. Click on the Device started event and click on
      View All Events.
    5. An Event Manager window will open, click on
Attach Task To This Event on the lower right hand side.
    6. This should provide you the options to create a new task. Select the Actions for the program to be run based on the trigger.

Let us know how it goes.

  4. Which service is triggering Event 4264?

Windows Update Service: Manual (Triggered) Is that the same as Windows Update Medic Service

I am having issues downloading Windows updates (Feature update to Windows 10, version 1809 amd64 2019-03) where it just continues to initialize and downloads but then starts initializing again for hours. So I went to check the settings as posted below in
    order to fix the issue:

    • Restart the Windows Update Services: Open the Service Manager and ensure that they are Started and their Startup type is as follows:
    1. Background Intelligent Transfer Service: Manual
    2. Cryptographic Service: Automatic
    3. Windows Update Service: Manual (Triggered)
#1 and #2 above are fine but I do not see "Windows Update Service: Manual (Triggered)" at all. Instead I see "Windows Update Medic Service" set to manual. Is that the same thing and if not- should I have a settings titled "Windows Update Service: Manual
(Triggered)" ? If yes, how to I find where I can add that missing setting into my laptop? Can that cause other issues?

    Best,

    Lee
