Windows 10: Which simple driver in window 11 to choose for adding a printer?

I have a Artisan 810 printer that I would like to use with windows 11. I can find the printer in add devices but am unable to determine which simple driver to use. I am unable to download from EPSON as I am in S mode and don't want to leave S mode. Is there anyone that would be able to tell me which driver to pick. I have tried a few but the printer will just print numerous pages with characters not readable. I have the disc for the printer but computer does not have a slot for CD.Thank you in advance,Louisa

Printer driver unavailable after printer install in windows 10

Hi,

I would suggest reinstalling the printer's legacy drivers.

Here are the complete steps to do so,

1. Press Windows+R and type in control printers

2. Right click the printer with the issue and choose properties

3. Go to the web services tab, save and copy the IP address under troubleshooting information as a reference to the printer's IP address

4. Close the window and right click the same printer

5. Choose to remove device

6. Go to start/search and type in hdwwiz.exe and open the application

7. Choose the option "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list

8. Locate printer and choose next

9. Choose to create a new port and choose standard tcp/ip port

10. On the hostname type in the IP address from the printer that you've saved from step 3

11. Choose the option "Replace the current driver"

12. Choose printer name

13. Choose the option "Share this printer so that others on your network can find and use it.

14. Let the printer install for 5 minutes

 

Adding unlisted printer to the Win10 list

!'m not sure how I did it but all seems well now. It was something like Deacon suggested plus a re-boot or two. It's now listed as a printer, not as unspecified.





Update the list still doesn't work.

Printer not being added

If you're unable to connect to your printer or print in Windows 10, we recommend following the steps in this
article to try and fix the problem. Since you keep on getting the "Windows doesn't has a network
profile for this device" error, we also suggest installing the driver for your printer. You can follow the steps below:
