Windows 10: Which SSD

I'm thinking of putting in an SSD into an ASUS G750JW. I'm looking at the Samsung 850EVO MZ-75E250B/AM 250GB 2.5" SATA3 Internal SSD and a Kingston® 240GB V300 SSD Flash Drive.
Obviously I'm looking for advice as to which of the two are the better. I realize there are a multitude of SSD's out there that one can choose from, but of the two listed, which would be the better? The Samsung reads and writes a bit faster but will one actually notice the difference when using either or.
Another question. I don't think the Samsung comes with brackets as does the Kingston but since this is going into a laptop, one does not need the supplied brackets anyway, correct?

i put in a 80gb intel x18 g1, works great.

 

That Kingston you mentioned is unreliable and slow. Always go with Samsung when it comes to SSD.

 

Thank you for that piece of advice. As to the brackets (I think that's what one calls it) that comes with the Kingston, is it true that is not really necessary since the SSD is going into a laptop? Are these only required in Desktops or am I in error?

 

I agree with @badrobot on the brand of SSD. I always go with Samsung, and I have several of them. You should not need a bracket for a laptop. It should fit in the bracket that laptop is using for your current drive.

 

Yeah. You don't need the brackets. Even for desktop it's not always necessary. That's why not all SSD brands include it in a package.

 

Thanks for the help guys. Just one last question. How do you pit a Samsung up against a Crucial SSD?

 

As mentioned above, you won't do better than a Samsung. Crucial isn't bad at all, so if it is a good deal cheaper than Samsung, I might consider it. If they are priced similarly, I'd go Samsung without a doubt.

I would add 2 cents here about Cruical. Avoid BX200! BX100 was good performer, and also MX series are good. Samsung is way to go, except if it's to expensive in your area.

 

I can get a 250 Gig for 139.00 Canadian price. Though I have two 500 Gig hard drives on this system, I'm only up to 122 Gigs used in over 2 years.
