Windows 10: Which Windows 11 settings and functions affect system power/cooling profiles?

Problem: I am having a problem with my Lenovo Laptop workstation's performance and fan speed. It appears that my fans no longer spin up to throttle or operate in performance mode. The laptop is not overheating, but seems to be stuck in a low-power or lap operating mode. My frame rate seems to be limited to 40 fps whether or not gSync is selected to match my 60 Hz refresh rate. In Windows 11 power-saving mode, clicking the Windows Focus prompt on the lock screen will cause a system crash.

Problem description: As the title suggests.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Enter Windows 11 power-saving mode.
   
2. Click the Windows Focus prompt on the lock screen.
   

Expected result: The login screen should appear and after logging in, the browser should automatically open to view content.

Actual result: The system crashes.

Device information:

• Windows 11 version: 22H2 (22621.1413)
  
• Device: Lenovo Xiaoxin 14 Pro 2021
  
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H
  

Other information:

• When plugged in, the system automatically turns off power-saving mode and cannot be turned on manually. The function works normally.
  
• When unplugged, turn off power-saving mode and the function works normally.
  
• When unplugged, turn on power-saving mode and the system crashes.
  

 

Where did the System Cooling Policy option go in Windows 11 advanced power plan settings?

In Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings and "change advanced power settings", under "Processor power management" the System Cooling Policy option is missing, where did it go?

where can i see what is my current system cooling policy setting?

 

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.
