    This should be actually the same password as your Microsoft account.

    OneDrive is asking because MS did not wired the OneDrive App to use your current MS account (Which you logged in with on your computer hopefully)... And they did not do that because so you can have a different OneDrive Account than your actual log-in account.

    Can I use EFS to encrypt files on OneDrive?

    I have Windows 10 Pro, and when I encrypt a file on my desktop which is in my OneDrive it appears in green (so encrypted).

    However, when I access my OneDrive from my laptop on the same Microsoft Account, the file does not appear to be encrypted (not in green). Also I can open the files normally on my laptop.

    I am looking to encrypt some of my files (confidential to me) on OneDrive, and not all of my files as I'll be sharing some of my files (eg photographs).
