    help 0x8007007B error code

    I have this problem where I have my product key but when I try to activate it shows the error message 0x8007007B and I searched online and tried the following in cmd admin

    slmgr -ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx then

    slmgr -ato

    but after I press enter for slmgr -ato it shows the same message 0x8007007B also when I go to settings and try to change product key the settings window freezes and wont work so please help I hate seeing the watermark to activate windows and whatever else
    might happen to my computer

    Hi Mazen,

    Sorry for the delayed response.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

    • Open command prompt in admin mode.
    • Type the command slmgr -upk and hit enter. This will uninstall the product key within the system.
    • Now type the command slmgr -ipk <product key>, where
      <product key> is the Windows 8.1 product key with spaces between each set. This will install the Product key.
    • Next, type the command slmgr -ato. This command is to activate the product key installed.
    • Exit command prompt and restart the computer.
