Hello,I have three laptops. On two of them when I have two more displays connected bu hub connector, as I close the laptop lid, its display gets disconnected and all open windows get transferred to one of the external displays immediately, which is what I want. But on my LG gram laptopwhich its windows upgraded to 11 recently this is not the caseafter upgrading windows 10 to 11 and the laptop display stays connected and even some applications I open on the external displays open on the laptop display. This is very annoying. I have tried so many changes so far. and the display settings on a

Confusing statement! You want to change the display on your laptop that died?

Is that correct?

How do you know its the display that's bad?

Just google "how to change display on a acer 5745"

Should get you to step by step instructions. But first make sure its the display that's bad

 

Laptop Display doesn't disconnect automatically when lid is closed

I have multiple monitors connected to my laptop. Recently I noticed that my laptop display is not getting removed / disconnected when I close the lid. In other words, if I have a window open on the laptop screen and close the lid, that window should move to one of the external monitors automatically. However, now that's not happening. I just can no longer see that window. Also I can drag other windows off of the external displays and into the laptop display even though I can't see it.

When I go into display settings, I still see the laptop display as active. If I set it to "Disconnect this display", then all of the windows from that screen pop over to the external displays as expected. It's just not happening automatically like it should.

It used to work as expected. However, since I normally keep the lid closed it's hard to say when this started happening.

A couple of additional notes:

- I'm sure the lid / sensor is working. I set the option to put the computer to sleep when the lid closes, and that works as expected.

- I'm in the fast ring for windows 11 updates. The current version is 22H2 Build 22623.870.

• Go to Settings.
• Click on System.
• Under System, choose Display.
• Under Multiple displays, click on Duplicate these displays and apply.
