Windows 10: White box / blank area when printing images

In Explorer, when I right-click an image and choose "Print" i.e using Windows' image printing feature, the printed picture has a white borderless box covering the middle of the page. This happens every time, no matter what settings I change, such as a size, type of paper, quality, etc. It happens with jpeg, jpg and png files, but not bmp.


If I open the image with IrfanView or Photos and print from the app, it prints fine. All other documents such as docx, pdf and xlsx print fine.


I use Windows Picture & Photo Viewer as my default image app, I wonder if it's something to do with that.


Tried rebooting and I've ran Windows Update. I am reluctant to uninstall/reinstall drivers/software because the problem isn't widespread, only printing images from Explorer.

When printing from the Internet a white blank area appears on the first page of what I want to print. It covers up what is on the page. Can you tell me how fox this?

I don't think I'm seeing the same "white box" that you do, but the churchlawandtax.com page is poorly coded for printing directly with a web browser.

For example, when printing from Firefox, IE 11, and Chrome, all 3 displayed only the & character in the title of the page and the sub-title ("Lead Your Ministry With Confidence") also doesn't appear.

In Firefox and Chrome, the box on the left with links to FB, Twitter, etc., blocks out part of the article's headline, while in IE, that box is overlaid by the headline.

That page, like many websites, has a "Print" link/button (in the same box mentioned in the previous paragraph). If you click that and print, do you still get the white box (using that functionality, I can printing with none of the above problems).

Consider that most websites are designed to be viewed in a browser, and if the site developer has not adhered strictly to current HTML standards, the site may work better or worse depending on the browser used. For this reason, the developers of sites
who think their visitors are likely to want to print pages from the site often have a "Print" link to a version of the site that is coded in a printer-friendly way.

The first is how I see the page in Chrome. The second is Chrome's Print Preview version of the same page. Do you see something differently?

Chrome has a built-in functionality to save to PDF (just click the drop-down arrow in the "Destination" box). If you "save as PDF" for page on which you see the white box, does the box also appear in the PDF?

I do use the print link button and the white box shows up there. I see your screen shots and the actual page looks like mine but the print preview does not. If you tell me how to do a screen shot and attach it I can send you what it looks like.

I have tried to save to PDF and the white box still remains.
