Windows 10: White DOS-like progress bar during Windows 10 start

    White DOS-like progress bar during Windows 10 start


    Hello,
    occasionally I see the green Vista-like loading bar during a Windows start, but today there was a white bar on bottom of the screen with text Loading above it aligned to left.


    There was no graphic shown, looked like text mode was used.


    Could it be a problem? PC had been normally shut off before - no sleep, no hibernation

    Hi, tried as you suggest. It starts and says Checking application registration... and the green progress bar just goes on and on (let it run for over two hours) and never gets to the next step. Any other suggestions?

    • Is the white bar present regardless of what program you are using on your computer?

    • Can you send us a screenshot of the
      white bar?

    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?



    This issue could also be related to
    damaged screen. We suggest that you contact your manufacturer to have your computer checked for hardware issues.

    Changing the taskbar color to white in Windows 10

    Hi Michael,

    Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated.

    In Windows 10 there is no option for changing the color to white but you can change it to different colors. To change the color of the task bar I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • In the search box, type settings.
    • Then select personalization.
    • Click on color option on the left side.
    • You will find an option called “show color on start, taskbar and start icon”.
    • You need to on the option and then you can change the color accordingly.
