Windows 10: white screen with arrow problem + C:\Users\Default\Desktop Is Unavailable

I got the white screen and I tried to run explorer.exe and the message "C:\Users\Default\Desktop is unavailable" pops up and I dont know what to do

This C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\desktop is unavailable error may occur due to corrupt or missing Windows files.

To troubleshoot the issue, you can follow these simple steps:

• Open File Explorer and navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile and check if it has the
  Desktop folder there.
• If the Desktop folder does not exist, then create a new folder and rename it as
  Desktop or copy it from C:\users\Default\Desktop.

Note: By default, C:\Users\Default is hidden. To unhide click on the View tab and check the
Hidden Items box.

After you have created the folder, it is required that you give full permission to the folder. You can follow these steps to give full permission:

• Right click on the folder, select Properties then click on the Security tab.
• Click on Edit.
• On the Permissions for Desktop window, select Everyone and then click on
  Add.
• In the Enter the object names to select dialog box, type
  Everyone and click on Check Names.
• Click OK.

White Screen Replaces Desktop

About 4 weeks ago my Desktop started being replaced by a completely blank, white screen. This would happen sometimes after I turned on the computer. Within probably a minute of Desktop appearing, it would be replaced by the blank, white screen. I could do various things to get Desktop back, but as soon as I did something else, like click on the Start Menu button, Desktop disappeared again. Restarting the computer would solve the immediate problem, but eventually, restarting the computer (not necessarily the very next time), it would happen again.

It was suggested I try Control Panel Troubleshooting; that found nothing. Then it was suggested I use Device Manager to uninstall and reinstall the video card driver. This seemed to work, but after 6 days the problem recurred.

I restored a system image from about 6 weeks before the problem first occurred, and it still happened. Apparently it's a hardware problem, but I'm not sure.

Any bright ideas? Thanks.

To assist you better, please provide the information:

• Have you made any changes to the Computer prior to the issue?
• Is the computer crashes while using it?
• Have you created any System Restore point on the computer prior to the issue?

I suggest you to try to create a new folder in the user account folder and check if it helps.

If the Desktop folder does not exist in the user folder, I suggest you to create an new folder and rename it to
Desktop or copy it from
C:\users\Default\Desktop.

Please note: C:\users\Default\ is hidden by default.

To enable or show Default folder.

1. Click on View menu on the top of File Explorer.

2. Then click on Option and click on View tab.

3. Then under Hidden files and folders. Click on Show hidden files, folders and drives.

4. Click on Apply and click on Ok.
