Windows 10: White x on volume icon in task bar. Fix?

Answered. White x on volume icon in task bar. Fixed...Yes finally!Fnally fixed after 3 days and hours of YouTube fixes which didn'tfix problem! Have Windows 11 but should work in Windows 10 too.My daughter figured it out in 1 minute!My volume icon on task bar had a white not red x on it, no soundand wasn't able to raise sound. When right clicked said No audio device found or connected.Also Trouble shooter said No Output on and No input on and greyed out.So o o o I had put headphone cable into BACK of the desktop as it wouldn'twork in the FRONT. Worked well several months. Suddenly it DIDN'T

Volume Icon on Task Bar is gone!

The Volume icon on the task bar has disappeared. I cannot changed the volume! There is an ^ symbol now and that gives a box with a number of items I never use. How do I get the Volume icon back!!?

 

Missing Date and Time, volume and Battery Icons

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if this helps:

• Right click on the task bar and you will get a popup menu.
• Click on properties.
• Under behavior of system icons select ON for volume icon, Date and Time icon and Battery icon to always show.
• Click OK.
