Windows 10: Whois Compatibility with Windows 10 2021

Hi,


I've tried to install the Whois program on my Windows 10 but it just won't install. I click on the program, and the command program flashes up for a fraction of a second then closes. I ran some diagnostics and Windows tells me the program isn't compatible with my computer or version of windows. Is there a way to solve the problem?

whois command not working for Windows 10

Hi,

I tried using the whois cmd in windows 10 and i get the following response:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'whois' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

operable program or batch file.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This comes even after I have saved the whois64.exe file in the System32 directory.

How can I fix the issues.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

I suggest you to refer to the below link and check if the driver is compatible.

If not compatible, I suggest you to install the driver in compatibility mode on Windows 10.

You can install Windows 8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right click the driver installation file and select
  Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the driver and check.
