    WHS v1 Not Running Automatic Backups on Windows 10


    I have a WHS v1 server, which is old but works fine. However, it recently stopped running the automatic nightly backup on a new Windows 10 machine. A manual backup runs fine, and everything else seems normal. It seems the Win 10 machine will not wake up from sleep to do the backup.Some adjustments were recently made to this Win 10 machine to address a problem with its not going to sleep when it should. That problem is resolved, but now I have this problem.Can anyone suggest what might be going on or what I can do to fix this problem?

    Does Windows Server Solutions Phone Connector work with WHS v1?

    The app shows it to work only for WHS 2011 but I thouht I'd ask as some sites say it does work with v1 (ie WHS 2003)

    I have not changed to 2011 due to the lack of drive extenders (which I hear rumours are coming in whs 2012?)

    Automatic backup

    I'm trying to setup automatic backup. In windows 7 I have it setup but it doesn't backup everything in that folder it backs up only stuff that was edited which causes confusion. Is there any easier way to automatically backup everything in a single folder to my external hd

    Windows 10 automatic backup error 0x80070015

    I've had the same problem as everyone else in this thread. I found this suggestion (proposed by Sachin Venkatesh, MS, back in 2015) worked for me:

    Follow the steps to check if the backup service is started.

    • Press Windows + R keys, type services.msc.
    • search Volume Shadow Copy and double click on it.
    • Set the Startup type to Automatic.
    • Click on Start in Service status and check.

    Mine was set to Manual... I changed it to Automatic and the backup immediately started running.
