RAM - Missing 2GB of active RAM

So I am running Win10 Home 64-bit. Recently noticed that of the 16gb ram installed (4x4) only 14gb shows up in windows.

So I bought 2x8gb sticks to upgrade - now have 24gb (2x4 and 2x8) but again only 22gb is showing up in windows.

I have cheeked the BIOS says that I should have 24gb. Tried all the normal msconfig boot suggestions. No on board gpu taking the

ram. I am at a loss.

Please try to re-seat RAM with careful contact cleaning.

Check your RAM modes (voltage, frequency, timings) are in compliance with motherboard compatibility list (QVL).

Do you have built-in graphic adapter?

 

W10 CRASHES AFTER INSTALLING 2X4 EXTRA `GOOD IDENTICAL` RAM

W10 home z170-p skylake 6600k msiarmor1070 currently 2x4 gb hyper savage ram k272hul 1440p monitor

When I installed the new ,identical model but different revision,ram computer starts strangely but I can usually log in and run say mdchk and syschk etc.

I have latest drivers and windows update .

At first with all four ram installed I get error code 0XC0000017 ,I remove one of the newly installed ,rerun test I get error OXC0000023 and with both `hardware problem detected contact supplier` and `There is not enough memory to create a ram disc
device .

I have reset bios to default and stopped oc on the skylake ..no difference ,I have tried xmp to get the ram voltage to 1.35 from 1.2 .again no difference .

When I replace the existing sticks with the new ,system boots fine ,and I get no errors ,when I stick the `old ` ram in the `new `slots I get hardware error .

Running the `new `sticks plays all games as before and the pc behaves as new so I don't think the error is in the RAM but a window setting or something.

Any help much appreciated .

As a side note when going through windows repair ,it fails and will not repair even with my usb repair stick ,but I don't think that's the problem .
