Windows 10: Why Am I Forced to Stay on Windows 11 When Rollback Is Blocked After Only 2 Days — Even...

I upgraded to Windows 11 just to test it out, and now I’m completely stuck. I’m hoping someone here can explain what’s going on and how to fix this. Here’s my situation: I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 on June 5th 2025. I want to roll back within the official 10-day window. But when I try, I get this message: “We’re sorry, but you can’t go back. The files we need to take you back to a previous version of Windows were removed.” The confusing part? The Windows.old folder is still there — so the rollback files should be present. I have plenty of free disk space, so there’s no reas

Block Windows 11 Update

I appreciate your time getting back to this thread, those are the steps to blocked the Windows 11 download, you will still get feature updates of Windows 10 when you run those powershell commands.

Windows 11 rollback after 10 days

I've had Windows 11 installed for 11 days, just over the end of the 10 day rollback period.
The old Windows 10 files are still taking up space on the SSD C:/ drive.

How long before those files clear themselves automatically?, as disk clean up says that there are 20Gbytes (or more) of space taken up by old system files.
I don't want to do a manual clean up unless absolutely necessary.

 

Rollback to Windows 10 from Windows 11 After 10 Days

I want to rollback to Windows 10 because Windows 11 is the opposite of efficient and has cut my productivity down so much that I have no other choice. The absurd 10 day window has passed - not 10 days of use, but 10 days since I installed... we're only open 4 days per week so not even 10 days of use - why MS didn't allow for the normal 30-day trial is beyond me. I can't use Windows 11 and need to rollback, so how do I do this?
