Windows 10: why am I getting garbled text in my emails

For the last few months, SOME emails that come in are garbled. Why? Using MAIL app. Never had this issue before.

All of a sudden , I am getting garbled text in my emails. Seems to be a problem with Business not personal emails.

Using Yahoo mail.

 

Garbled text

In emails or texts, the text appears garbled, or the words do not form completely. This happens in receiving messages, also on FB and other applications. It does NOT happen when composing a message. I'm using Windows 10.

I am experiencing this problem too. I have WP 7.5. It appears to happen with WP 8 too. For example, see this post...

That poster writes:

"the problem appears to be an extra new line character inside the long subject line; basically preventing the mail client from decoding the message properly and resulting in a lot of extra junk."

I did a test with this. I found the email that I had been forwarding to my friends. I sent it to myself at another email address. I received the same garbled text that my friends received.

I then went back to the original mail and shortened the subject line and resent it. It then behaved normally. So that is a workaround. However, it's hardly a satisfactory solution!
