There is something screwy with your computer for sure. You have several folder with no name at all.

My Documents is a carry over from Windows 7. It is not part of Windows 8.1 or 10. If it's there it is a hard link to Documents. I do not have a My Documents folder on my Win 10 PC as I did a Clean Install of Windows 10 a while back.

ZTruker, that is called the joys of "Paint" ... in other words, I purposely whited out personal data before I uploaded the picture. Now with that in mind, would you concur with logicearth that all else is well and I have no need at this point to go into meltdown?

  3. Yep, you can get to All Users, I wasn't clear or typed too fast without fully explaining.

Try opening Application Data, Desktop, Documents, Start menu or Templates under C:\Users\All Users

Those should result in the same error Maggidon posted in #1 - this is normal behavior.

The answer I gave was in response to the topic of the thread
"Why am I getting this message when trying to access a particular file" and the image posted shows
    C:\All Users\Documents folder

But overall, I think you and I agree - this is not a problem.

  5. Good .... another medical crisis averted *Wink

Are you having problems opening files in YOUR documents folder (not the All Users Document folder)?

    C:\Users\Maggidon\Documents
If documents stored in YOUR folders open, then it's not worth responding to ... I'm sure you can find all sorts of problems on other systems across the Internet. Even if they are the same manufacturer and model, you shouldn't expect issues on other machines to affect your machine. Issues usually arise when an incorrect driver or registry modification gets applied to a system. Malware is another cause.

When an issue occurs on your system or you have a question, as you did with this thread, then members can address the issue or answer your question(s).

There's enough stress in the world, don't let problems on other people's machines add to your own. *Wink

TenForum members will always help when you create a thread, we all learn from the experience.

If you're satisfied that your question was answered, please mark your thread SOLVED when you get the chance,

    Thanks

I can indeed get into Folders from Users\\Documents, also from Quick Access & This PC. I hadn't realized what I brought up here was another wonderful thing Windows 10 had created. Totally marvelous!!!
Thank you so much everyone that barreled in onto this thread. The help here is tremendous!!!

You should have Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) checked for normal operation. Only uncheck when you are looking at problems. Then you won't see a lot of those inaccessible links.
Sort of like Out of sight, out of mind *Smile
