Windows 10: Why am I having this "something happened, and we couldn't start the upgrade" issue trying...

Brand new laptop bought this morning. Trying to turn off S mode so I can work remotely thru Citrix. I've been trying to turn S mode off for over 5 hours now. I've tried every "tip" on the internet, watched every youtube vide and nothing works. Even my IT department can't figure it out. Microsoft support is no help at all. I call there and they tell me I have to talk to a member of "tech support", then put me on hold. 36 minutes, 51 minutes, now 44 minutes. 3 different calls and NOBODY will answer the call at tech support. APPLE, you just found yourself a new customer! How dare Microsoft "not a

Trying to reinstall Win10

Do not download or use Restoro PC Repair Tool, just try the steps listed below that.

 

"We couldn`t create a new partition or locate an existing one."

Try this:

Before you get to that message, press SHIFT + F10 to open a command prompt.

Run diskpart.
At the diskpart prompt, run these commands:

list disk

At this point you should see the SSD as disk 0. If it has another disk number, use that number rather than "0" in the next command.

select disk 0
clean
exit (to exit from diskpart)
exit (to exit from the command prompt)





That should clear the contents of the disk. The entire disk space should then show up in Windows setup as "Unallocated Space" as in the screenshot below.

 

can't perform inplace upgrade
