Trouble Opening PDF's

Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions:

• Does the issue persist in Edge browser?
• Do you get similar error when you open the PDF file in Adobe reader?

Check if you are facing similar issue in Edge browser.



Step 1: Open PDF file in Adobe reader and check if you are facing similar issue.



To open PDF file directly from Adobe reader, follow the steps below:

• Open Adobe application and click on Edit.
• Click on Preferences and select Internet.
• Uncheck Display PDF in Browser option and check if you are able to open the PDF file without getting the error code.

Step 2: If you are able to open PDF file in Adobe reader, I suggest you to
Turn off Internet Explorer,
enable it again and check if the issue is resolved.

Not able to open pdf on windows 7

Thanks for using the Microsoft Answers forums for your inquiries.



I have found that a lot of PDF files can be saved into some rather large files and 50MB is pretty big. After doing some research about PDF files I found that Calibre lists PDF files as one of the
least preferred file formats for use with Calibre. Based on the FAQ on Calibre's website, PDF files have had a tendency to not even display correctly.



If you're having an issue with opening the PDF on your Windows Phone 7 because the file size is too large, you should be able to convert the file itself into a smaller format. I did a search on Bing.com and found some helpful links discussing the need,
ability, and steps on how to "shrink" the file size of the PDF file.



I also found that Adobe has released a free PDF reader in version 9.0 for the Windows Phone 7, if you haven't already downloaded and tried it.
