When, oh when, will Microsoft correct the credentials manager error?

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

As a workaround I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it
helps.

• 
  Open the Edge browse
  
• 
  Click on (…) More actions in the upper right corner of the browse
  
• 
  Click on "Settings
  
• 
  scroll to the bottom to "Advanced Settings”
  
• 
  click on "View advanced settings"
  
• 
  scroll down to "Privacy and services"
  
• 
  click on "Manage my saved passwords"
  

This shows the websites you have saved passwords for. They are listed in random order if you click on an entry it will display:

• 
  The URL
  
• 
  The Username
  

Select one of the entries and change one of the passwords, click on Save to Credential Manager and see all of your saved "Web Credentials”.

Also clear the Edge and Internet Explorer data caches (but not the password cache) and

Re-boot your PC before performing this fix.

Managing Credentials with no password

How do I access my password list - when I am running my PC without any Windows login or password ?

I have built my laptop using Windows 10 / 64 - without the need/requirement for any login or password

In order to see a Web Credentials password, you are required to enter a Windows credentials password - which I do not have (because I have built the PC without the requirement for such a login) .....(although I have tried my Hotmail login - which gives me
access to email but fails to give me access to Web credentials)

What can I do to view my password list ?

And Eashwar Kumar - rather weirdly (for an IT pro) asked me the following - yesterday

1. I am referring to the passwords held in the CREDENTIAL MANAGER (in the control panel)

2. I am referring to ALL of my passwords

3. The Credential Manager is independent of browser !

Windows10 home unable to see passwords in Credential manager

Apologies for the confusion. It could be due to a setting or configuration issue if you cannot see the "Show" option in Credential Manager.

Check Windows settings for Credential Manager:

1. Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.

2. Go to "Privacy" and select "Account info" in the left-hand menu.

3. Ensure the option "Allow apps to access your account info" is turned on.

Ensure you are logged in with an administrator account on your Windows system.

Use the Command Prompt with administrative privileges to view passwords.

1. Right-click on the Start button and select "Command Prompt (Admin)" to open an elevated Command Prompt.

2. In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter:

cmdkey /list

3. To view the password for a specific credential, use the following command:

cmdkey /generic:TargetValue

Replace "TargetValue" with the value you noted down in the previous step.
