Windows 10: Why am I unable to change my username in windows 11 user settings?

I'm an administrator of my PC but yet when I go to "User Account" section in control panel and select my profile, there's no option through which I could change my username.I literally bought my new pc a few days ago, and while setting up my profile creating Microsoft account , there was no such option to setup my username, it didn't even asked me to change or set my username.So what actually it did is, it took the first 5 letters of my email address and created it as my username, for example, my email is "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***", and my username by default picked by the system itself

I have tried the guide which was made for windows 10 but it did not work. I followed the steps correctly and I am using a Microsoft account not a local.

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

 

Changing C:\Users\USERNAME

When setting up a computer, you are initially prompted to create a username. Once this name is created, how can it be changed?

To be clear, you can change your personal account name (found under Settings>Account>Your Info), but this does not change C:\Users\USERNAME (or whatever drive your OS is on). To change this, I have tried to edit the registry (as detailed

here). However, when doing this, I am unable to log into my account and have the need to setup a temporary account to recover to the old C:\Users\USERNAME state. How can I change this drive name?
