Windows 10: Why am i unable to log into my microsoft account with the details I usually use?

Recently I tried to log into my microsoft account but I was unable to, because when i used the gmail address I usually use to log into my microsoft account, it gave me an error message saying that there was no such account currently in existence. I found this strange because I knew I didnt type anything in wrong and its always the gmail I log into my account with. I then decided on a whim to sign up to microsoft using my gmail, but then it said that my gmail does have an account, again, i'm sure i typed it in correctly multiple times. Unable to set up Microsoft Account

Change Microsoft Account Details in Administrator Account


Hi Daryl, welcome to the Ten Forums.

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address.
