Windows 10: Why am I unable to open the chat, with myself as the receiver ,on Whatsapp Web?

Whatsapp Web the web application from App Stoe has this helpful feature where you can create a chat with your own contact, to send yourself important messages / documents which can be viewed from a chat, and used on a daily basis, without letting someone else see the messages. The messenger makes the recipient of the message your own contact, allowing you to chat with yourself.It looks like thisRecently, my Whatsapp Web updated to the newest version, without my permission. I usually have Whatsapp saved as an icon on the taskbar and desktop. When I entered the password the computer was sleep

Sending files in Whatsapp Web not possible anymore?

Lately, when dragging any file to a chat in Whatsapp Web (which is opened in Edge) to send it, it says that the file is not supported. It used to work normally.

Restarting and logging off/in Whatsapp Web doesn't fix this. I prefer to use Whatsapp Web above the standalone app.

Anyone else having this problem?

 

vivaldi and whatsapp web

so recently i switched to vivaldi from brave , and can't complain , i like it .
only issue i have is when i link my phone like it asks ,it's fine while browser is open .
when i close browser and later open it again, and want to go to WhatsApp again , i must link again ? everytime ?
no other browser i used in the past does that .
this doesn't seem to work on vivaldi ...
is there a setting in the browser somewhere i'm missing?

oh wait nevermind i figured it out , i was just too lazy too search through the sheer magnitude of settings lol
turns out you go to settings - privacy and security - cookies - and select all.
mine was on session only ...

Whatsapp desktop - making a chat / call with no contacts

A friend uses Whatsapp from a phone. I'd like to use whatsapp from my desktop or phone to communicate with them.

I have installed whatsapp on my android phone and have connected the desktop. And am leaving the phone turned on, as directed.

I refused to permit Whatsapp to read my contacts, etc.. I'm not a big facebook fan and know that they share everything everywhere and sell it everywhere.

However, I cannot figure a way to make or even receive a call using whatsapp without using my contacts list.
Is this true or is there something I'm missing. On the desktop app I put in a phone number and it wants to search my contacts, which of course it does not have. After using "Create Group" same thing.

No way to make a call at all with whatsapp if you don't share your contacts with it?

if so, Whatsapp is completely broken for me.

And if so that's fine since I can use Skype or Discord just fine.
