Windows 10: Why am I unable to receive a verification code or sign in any other way?

I am trying to sign into my xbox account on my computer in order to play minecraft, every time it asks me to put in my pin which I do and then it asks me to enter a verification code that is sent to my outlook email, but I am not getting any verification codes though my email and it is not giving me any other options to sign in like through a phone number or my microsoft password
