Windows 10: Why are Excel and Word files renamed "C_"?

Suddenly, as of yesterday or today, when I open up existing files in Word and Excel they are automatically renamed to "C_." I am able to use the files, but I run into trouble with saving, because the renamed files are not considered to be the original files, so I must save a new copy or overwrite the original.I have my files synched with OneDrive, and I generally use AutoSave. Could the problem be linked with these things? I tried to deactivate the autosave feature, but that doesn't seem to have had any effect. I'm not sure how to test any potential issue with OneDrive. Also, I just reinstalle

Jump Lists Not working for Word 2016 or Excel 2016


To get a file into a Word or Excel taskbar jump list:
Create a shortcut to the workbook or document you want in the jump list, rename it as you wish, then copy (Ctl+drag) it onto the Excel or Word icon on the taskbar. It will then be pinned there; i.e. when you right click the icon, you'll see the file. Click it to open it.

 

I cannot open any of my Office files; Word, Excel, Powerpoint

I am working in Windows 10 home version 1909.
Can not afford an upgrade.
My Office files are old, dont know what version.
Cant remember how I updated this laptop to Windows 10 months ago.
PROBLEM:
I can not open any of my Office files; Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
I looked for my Windows old file as suggested, and it IS gone.
Haveing a small breakdown, will step away and return in a few...ANY DIRECTIONS AND ANSWERS WOULD BE GREAT!!!!!! PLEASE WRITE THEM IN STEP BY STEP FORMAT. Thankyooouuuuuuuu!
