Windows 10: Why Are My Text Boxes & Buttons Highlighted with this Bold Black Borderline?

Why are my text boxes highlighted with this Bold Black Borderline? See attached screenshot.

Does this suggest that my computer is bugged with a hidden Key-logger or screen recorder? I searched for strange applications on Task Manager but there is nothing on the list of running programs or startup programs. How do I detect and remove hidden Keyloggers and screen recorders on Microsoft Windows 10?

Using the tab key to hop between text fields highlights all buttons

Hello,
Whenever a dialog box pops up in Windows 10, if it contains text input fields and clickable buttons/radio buttons/checkboxes, pressing the tab key steps through every single item in the dialog box, which is very annoying and, to me, pointless. Do I recall that there might be a way to limit this behaviour so the tab key only highlights text input boxes, and not every single element? I can't find anything useful in Windows 10's Settings/Control Panel - am I missing something or is this not possible?

Find a string of highlighted text with a nonhighlighted white space interrupting somewhere inside the otherwise highlighted string

You could do it in a multi-step process. The first stage is to find and replace all non-highlighted spaces with highlighted spaces which ALSO have a unique formatting feature (for removal again later) eg red bold italics so that you have highlighted strings (ie no non-highlighted space in between).

Then you can do your second find to find the text you are looking for (with highlight format option selected).

Then a final find and replace to replace all the specially formatted spaces to remove the formatting (eg red bold italics) and highlighting you applied to the spaces.

 

Text highlight not sticking - Post Anniversary Update Issue


Immediately following the Anniversary Update, I have been experiencing issues with text highlighting.

Left click text highlighting rarely 'sticks', or stays highlighted after releasing the left mouse button.

Right click text highlighting doesn't highlight text at all.

I have tried using another mouse (different manufacturer) - same issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or has anyone experienced this issue?
